What happens when an existing customer uses an affiliate’s Referral URL?

When an existing customer uses an affiliate’s Referral URL, logs in to a store and makes a purchase, the affiliate will not receive points as a result of the existing customer using the URL. However, if the existing customer was initially referred by the affiliate and the rule’s Customer Action or Event “Referral makes any order” was active at the time of the referral, the affiliate will receive points based on the rule and not on the existing customer using the URL.
