Selling Points in Your Store As a Virtual Product
You can sell points in your store as customer credit with MageRewards. That means customers can exchange real money for the equivalent (or specified) points value. In order to enable this sort of functionality please follow the following steps:
- Create a virtual product with a price and image representing the points package or value. For example if you are selling one point, you would create a product with a title “one point”.
- Next, create a points distribution catalog rule that will award the customer 1 point for buying this product. You can accomplish this by setting the conditions to “SKU is ABC123” where ABC123 is the sku of the virtual product created in step 1.
- Apply all points catalog rules (or only distribution catalog rules if you’d like).
If you followed the steps correctly, you should see that the customer can now buy the product and earn points for that product. If your virtual product is set to $1 for 1 Point, the customer will earn 10 point for buying 10 of this product (thus paying $10).
