Installing MageRewards Into A Custom Design Package

If you are using your own Magento design package then you will have to follow these instructions.

Note: Prior to MageRewards version 1.6, the frontend template files were located in the "default/default" folder rather than the "base/default" folders mentioned below.

Default Files

Front-end

  1. Copy app/design/frontend/base/default/template/rewards to app/design/frontend/your_package/default/template/rewards
  2. Copy app/design/frontend/base/default/layout/rewards.xml to app/design/frontend/your_package/default/layout/rewards.xml

Admin

Most don't actually create a separate package for adminhtml design. In case you are using your own package for admin design, follow these instructions:

  1. Copy app/design/adminhtml/default/default/template/rewards to app/design/adminhtml/your_package/default/template/rewards
  2. Copy app/design/adminhtml/default/default/layout/rewards.xml to app/design/adminhtml/your_package/default/layout/rewards.xml

Either way, please make sure base/default/template/rewards and base/default/layout/rewards.xml are still intact. These will be used as a further failsafe in case a particular template does not exist anywhere else.

Integrations

If you are already are using any integration steps from the  Integration Guide you need to copy over your changes to to this new package or re-follow the guide for this package.
